GCAG Board Members

  • Anna Currie, President

    A previous CTE Teacher and current RE Agent, Anna holds an EdD in Adult Education, MBA, and BSHE/Interior Design/Art Minor.  Anna’s art forte is acrylics and watercolor.  She enjoys outdoor activities, her pets, and her grandkids.

  • Dot Lodge, Vice-President

    Having English degrees from UNCG and University of Keele in England, Dorothy is a retired educator, administrator, and outdoor and travel enthusiast. She is an oil painter who explores other media.

  • Magie DeShon, Treasurer

    Magie has resided in Gaston County since 1990.  Currently working in financial management, Magie loves her grandkids, hand quilting, and baking and cooking for family and friends.

  • Nancy Winker, Secretary

    Nancy is a retired physician and PA educator, who spends her free time painting in oils. She studied studio art and art history while in college. She loves to paint plein air, travel, play with grandbabies, and garden.

  • Cam Tracy, Past President

    Cam has served three terms as president of the GCAG and facilitates our plein air group.  A trained chaplain with a BA and Master of Pastoral Studies, her background is in membership and networking with the Chamber of Commerce.  Inspired by the diverse and scenic Piedmont area, Cam started studying oil painting and currently teaches art at the Gastonia Adult Recreation Center.

  • Kathleen Boyce, Grants Director

    Kathleen Boyce is a retired Language Arts Educator and retired Executive Director of Girls on the Run of Gaston County.  She holds a BA from Davidson College and MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University.

  • Gloria Brinkman, Program Director

    A retired Visual Arts Educator, Gloria has a BFA and Masters of Arts in Art Education.  Through involvement in the GCAG, Gloria enjoys introducing members to professional artists to inspire their pursuit of new art endeavors.  Having raised 6 children, she stays busy with her 15 grandchildren!

  • Ethan Peeler, Membership

    An artist and draftsman, Ethan has a deep appreciation for the Carolina Piedmont’s heritage and traditions.  He owns Gaston Art & Frame and draws on his experience to help GCAG members discover opportunities, foster connections, and support a thriving local arts community.

  • Carol Stowe-Rankin, Marketing Director

    After studying Graphic Art at WCU under Wade Hobgood, Carol worked primarily in the banking and advertising industries.  She currently works with the McAdenville Artist Workshop teaching oil painting when not spending time with her family.

  • Meredith Pruitt, Ambassador

    A previous Language Arts Educator and Journalism grad from “App” State with a Masters of Education in Reading, Meredith paints with oil when not attending to her two teens.  Her outgoing spirit helps her be our cheerleader!
