Anna Currie, President
A previous CTE Teacher and current RE Agent, Anna holds an EdD in Adult Education, MBA, and BSHE/Interior Design/Art Minor. Anna’s art forte is acrylics and watercolor. She enjoys outdoor activities, her pets, and her grandkids.

Dot Lodge, Vice-President
Having English degrees from UNCG and University of Keele in England, Dorothy is a retired educator, administrator, and outdoor and travel enthusiast. She is an oil painter who explores other media.

Magie DeShon, Treasurer
Magie has resided in Gaston County since 1990. Currently working in financial management, Magie loves her grandkids, hand quilting, and baking and cooking for family and friends.

Candy Thomas, Secretary
After studying art at UNC-G and GTI for commercial art, graphic design, and photography, Candy worked as Staff Illustrator for JB Ivey & Co. She later owned an advertising agency for 15 years, then flipped houses while obtaining her RE License. She currently explores contemporary impressionistic acrylic, watercolor/pen and ink renderings, and pastel.

Cam Tracy, Past President
Cam has served three terms as president of the GCAG and facilitates our plein air group. A trained chaplain with a BA and Master of Pastoral Studies, her background is in membership and networking with the Chamber of Commerce. Inspired by the diverse and scenic Piedmont area, Cam started studying oil painting and currently teaches art at the Gastonia Adult Recreation Center.

Kathleen Boyce, Grants Director
Kathleen Boyce is a retired Language Arts Educator and retired Executive Director of Girls on the Run of Gaston County. She holds a BA from Davidson College and MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Gloria Brinkman, Program Director
A retired Visual Arts Educator, Gloria has a BFA and Masters of Arts in Art Education. Through involvement in the GCAG, Gloria enjoys introducing members to professional artists to inspire their pursuit of new art endeavors. Having raised 6 children, she stays busy with her 15 grandchildren!

Ethan Peeler
An artist and draftsman, Ethan has a deep appreciation for the Carolina Piedmont’s heritage and traditions. He owns Gaston Art & Frame and draws on his experience to help GCAG members discover opportunities, foster connections, and support a thriving local arts community.

Carol Stowe-Rankin
After studying Graphic Art at WCU under Wade Hobgood, Carol worked primarily in the banking and advertising industries. She currently works with the McAdenville Artist Workshop teaching oil painting when not spending time with her family.

Meredith Pruitt, Ambassador
A previous Language Arts Educator and Journalism grad from “App” State with a Masters of Education in Reading, Meredith paints with oil when not attending to her two teens. Her outgoing spirit helps her be our cheerleader!

Janet Croog, Website Manager
Janet Croog is a paper artist and illustrator. Owner of Paper Planet Studios, she specializes in custom low-relief sculptures. She has exhibited nationally, including ArtPop Street Gallery’s 2024 Times Square display.

Jason Hannusch, Special Events Coordinator
A retired Texan and an exceptional oil painter of fabric on bodies without heads, Jason offers a unique viewpoint for our Board. He loves to paint in Italy and hopes to retire there someday.
