Visual Harvest Annual Juried Art Exhibit

PROSPECTUS

THEME:  This juried show will feature art that focuses on any subject that is visual and/or tactile, drawing the viewer to use their imagination and senses.

JUDGE:  ISAAC PAYNE:  (BFA) CIA and (MFA) CUNY Queens College

AWARDS:  Best of Show $500, First Place $400, Second Place $300, Third Place $200, 2 Merit awards $100 each. 

ELIGIBILITY:  All artists eighteen or older and living in North Carolina or South Carolina may submit up to two entries upon payment of non-refundable entry fee. $30 for members, $40 for non-members.

GUIDELINES:  Please go to our website under shows to fill out the entry form for Visual Harvest 2026, upload photos, and pay the entry fee.  This must be completed by Friday, September 25, 2026, by 5:00 pm.

Take-in for the show is Monday, September 28, 2026, 3:00 pm – 6:00 pmat Daniel Stowe Conservancy, 6500 South New Hope Rd, Belmont NC 28012.

*All Artists will be notified by Wednesday, September 30, 2026, if their work is accepted or declined.  Notification will be by email, so artists should be able to check the email address they supply on the entry form.

*Work pickup at end of show is Sunday, November 15, 2024, 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm.  Any work not picked up will become the property of the Gaston County Art Guild.

SPECIFICATIONS:  Painting, drawing, sculpture, glass, ceramic, jewelry, printmaking, photography, wood working and fiber are eligible.  2-D or 3-D work completed in the last two years, must be your original work. Enter one photo of 2-D entry, and 2-3 photos as needed of 3-D work.  2-D work selected by the judge must be appropriately wired and ready to hang in the gallery.  No string or saw tooth hangers please.  Photographs, watercolors, pastels, prints, and drawings must be protected by glass, plexiglass, or protective medium.  Mats must be neutral white, black, beige, or gray.  Canvases must not have side staples and must be gallery wrapped or framed.  No stock or published images may be used as a source, nor work completed in a classroom environment.  Photocopies and computer-generated art will not be accepted.  The longest dimension of any 2-D artwork should be 50” max, including frame or finished edge.  3-D pieces must be installed by the creator and include any necessary display supports.

Work must be available for purchase and CANNOT have previously been exhibited at a Gaston County Art Guild Show.  The judge will select the art to be exhibited and choose the awards.  Artists will receive 70% of their sales.  Gaston County Art Guild will retain 30% commission on all sales.
