In The Spirit of Miniature Art Show

PROSPECTUS

ELIGIBILITY: This show is for Gaston County Art Guild members only.
Entry fee $25.00 per artist.

GUIDELINES:  Complete the entry form on the Gaston County Art Guild website under Shows - Miniature Show - 2025.  Remember to complete the form and pay the fee on that page. Please submit digitally by November 1st.

TAKE IN for hung exhibit is Wednesday, November 5th from 1:00 - 4:00 pm at the Main Branch, Gaston County Public Library at 1555 E. Garrison Boulevard, Gastonia.  

OPENING RECEPTION:  Thursday, November 13th from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the Library Conference Room ​(takes the place of the Art Guild's monthly meeting) at the Main Branch, Gaston County Public Library at 1555 E. Garrison Boulevard, Gastonia. Awards will be presented at 7:00 pm.

JUDGE AND PRESENTER:  Acclaimed NC Artist, Curt Butler. Curt is known for his large-scale paintings of abstracted landscapes, birds, and figures.

PICKUP DATE:  Friday, January 2nd 2026 from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm. Art not picked up will be available to be picked up by appointment. Works not claimed will become the property of the GCAG. (Cam Tracy 704.616.2132)

SPECIFICATIONS:  Members may enter 3 pieces. Painting, drawing, printmaking, and 3-D are acceptable. No duplicates, computer generated art, or photographs accepted. Work must be original and completed within the last two years. 2-D work must be framed and wired for hanging. Works on paper must be protected with glass or Plexiglas. Maximum image size is 6 x 6 in. (36 sq. inches).  Maximum outside dimension including frame is 13" x 13". Representational paintings must be 1/6 or less the actual size of the subject. 3-D work must be able to fit into an 8" cube and miniature in size.

AWARDS:  Ribbons and 6 Merit cash awards will be given to the winners during the reception.

SALES:  Work may be for sale. The Art Guild receives a 20% commission on sales.

LIABILITY:  All reasonable care will be given, but neither the Guild nor the Library will assume responsibility for loss or damage.
